Updating Payment Details for WhatsApp Business Account (WABA)

Keeping your payment details updated is crucial for maintaining uninterrupted access to WhatsApp Business services. Follow the steps below to update payment details for your WABA.


Prerequisites

Before proceeding, ensure the following:

  1. You have Administrator access to the Meta Business Account linked to the WABA.
  2. Your payment method complies with Meta’s accepted payment methods (e.g., credit card, debit card, or PayPal).
  3. Ensure that your payment details are valid and have sufficient balance for any upcoming charges.
  4. Access to the Business Manager where your WABA is configured.

Steps to Update Payment Details

Step 1: Log in to Meta Business Manager

  1. Visit the Meta Business Manager.
  2. Log in with the credentials of your Meta account.

Step 2: Navigate to Payments Section

  1. In the Business Manager Dashboard, click on Business Settings.
  2. From the left-hand menu, navigate to WhatsApp Accounts under the Accounts section.
  3. Select your WABA account and click the Payment settings at the right-hand side.

Step 3: Select the Correct Payment Account

  1. Identify the payment account associated with your WABA.
  2. Click on the account to manage its payment methods.

Step 4: Add or Update Payment Methods

  1. Click Add Payment Method to include a new payment method.
    • Enter details such as credit card number, expiration date, and CVV.
    • For PayPal, log in to your PayPal account to link it.
  2. To update an existing payment method:
    • Locate the payment method from the list.
    • Click the Edit or Replace option and update the necessary details.

Step 5: Assign the Payment Method to WABA

  1. After updating the payment method, navigate to Accounts > WhatsApp Accounts.
  2. Select the WhatsApp Business Account for which you need to update payments.
  3. Assign the updated payment method to the account.

Step 6: Confirm Payment Details

  1. Double-check all payment details to ensure they are accurate.
  2. Save changes by clicking Confirm.

Step 7: Verify Payment Status

  1. Return to the Payments section in Business Settings.
  2. Confirm that the payment method shows as Active and is linked to the correct WABA.
  3. Ensure there are no pending payments or errors.

Troubleshooting

  • Payment Failure: Verify the card or PayPal account has sufficient funds and is not expired.
  • Unable to Add Payment Method: Contact your bank to ensure online transactions are enabled.
  • Error Linking to WABA: Ensure the selected payment method is active and meets Meta’s requirements.
